Wild Lavender Honey, or Mel de Rosmaninho in Portuguese.
This Wild Lavender Honey is produced in the mountains of the interior of Portugal, where bees find vast areas of wild lavender (Lavandula stoechas) integrated in a flora and fauna almost intact, thanks to the low human activity and absence of pollution.
From Serra da Malcata to the south, along the hills that flank the Pônsul and Erges rivers, in the interior of Alentejo and in the mountains of Algarve and, to the north, on the banks of the Coa river and in the mountainous regions between the rivers Tua and Sabor (Trás-os-Montes), Serramel produces and selects this clear and aromatic honey. Its production and extraction are done by traditional means.
